Afternoon Tea at The Georgian in Seattle
On our way to Canada, I arranged for my daughter and I to stop and share a special tea for two in honor of her 16th birthday. Our original plan was to take the ferry over to Victoria and have tea at the Empress Hotel, however due to the recent wildfires in British Columbia, we shortened our trip and the Victoria BC portion got cut. I quickly researched some other locations for us to celebrate and I just knew when I found the afternoon tea held at the Georgian, in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, it was just what I had in mind for her first formal tea…and it was absolutely…

Get the Look for Less: My Easter Table
How to Shop at Discount Stores to Give Your Home a Designer Look for Less Every few months I look forward to changing up my seasonal decor. Back in February I started plotting and planning how I was going to set up my Easter table this year. Among all the fresh spring decor being put out in the stores, I saw adorable bunny plates in a couple different styles. When I heard this news, it only took me a few…

DIY Reusable Coffee Sleeve Tutorial
Last spring when I was in Hawaii, I frequented the Coffee Gallery on the North Shore of Oahu. Yummy good coffee can be found at the Coffee Gallery and I would highly recommend giving them a try if you are ever in the area. Anyhoo…as a souvenier I purchased a handmade reusable coffee sleeve made from the burlap bags the roasted coffee beans come in. Originally my idea was to try and replicate this sleeve using regular burlap, but when I tried it was an epic failure. The burlap bags the coffee came in were a much tighter weave and didn’t fray as easily, so now I am on the…

French Country Kitchen: Color Palette Inspiration
I really LOVE how this all turned out. The colors are so calming to me and the light cabinets really brighten up the kitchen. We decided to leave the trim dark because it really captures the character of our Tudor-style home. We also carried the dark colors throughout the kitchen by choosing antique bronze finishes for the light fixtures, hardware and faucets. The light and dark contrast really brings everything together. So happy!
