Extreme Home Makeover: Ernstopia Edition
Who hasn’t watched “Extreme Home Makeover” and wanted to just throw a sledge hammer through a wall? I know I have and although we didn’t have a sledge hammer the crowbar is equally gratifying!
We saw no need to pay a bunch of construction workers to come over and tear out the kitchen when we had three willing and able kids who would do it for free! I might venture to say they would even pay us to rip out more walls! As you can guess, they loved every minute of it!
Not wanting to be left out of the fun, I hopped up on the counters and used my brute strength to pull off the sheet rock from the studs. I would love to report that I ripped it from the wall in just one easy tug, but to my amazement, it was pretty difficult at first.
A close up look behind the back splash revealed this sweet rosebud wallpaper…very 80’s country, but sweet nonetheless. The yellow color even matched the paint on the walls!
Besides being a great money saver, doing your own demolition is a big stress reliever. Ironically, after looking at the ripped up walls, it’s also a huge stress contributor. So there you have it… Studly, no? Insert stud puns *here*
