Enjoy a Delicious Burger at 1188 Brewing Company in John Day, Oregon

After a day of hiking and exploring the Painted Hills, nothing hits the spot like a good burger and that’s exactly what we found at 1188 Brewing Company in John Day, Oregon. We ordered the Bacon Jalapeño Cheese Burger to share and it was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while.

Our burger was juicy, bacon was crispy, lettuce was fresh and the bun was buttery toasted perfection. It came with a generous side salad that was also super fresh and delicious with jalapeño ranch dressing.

What Cider Pairs well with a Jalapeño Burger?

Great question I’m glad you asked! We sampled of a couple of their cider flavors and it wasn’t even close. The apple pie cider was the clear winner. We ordered it both times! I’m not sure if this is a seasonal flavor, but if you see it on the menu, just order one (or two). You won’t be sorry.

So Good we Ate Here Twice!

As luck (or unluck) would have it, I left my purse there the night we ordered the burger…We didn’t realize it until we were already 2 hours away on a road trip headed in the opposite direction. Luckly they were so kind and offered to lock it up for us until we could return.

Bonus for us, when we returned we got to enjoy another delicious meal! This time we tried the jalapeño crispy chicken sandwich. I didn’t think anything could beat that jalapeño bacon burger, but this chicken sandwich might have done it. I don’t know though, the verdict is still out, cause that burger was incredible. Both were 100% delicious and would recommend either one.

If you’re in the John Day area and have a craving for a really good burger, definitely stop in to 1188 Brewery. Great friendly service and if you leave your purse there, you can eat there twice in one vacation!
