A Sweet Past

If you’re not familiar with this area, Todos Santos is a charming beach town in Baja California Sur, Mexico that is home to some of the best restaurants in BCS. In the late 1800s until the 1950s Todos Santos was the sugar cane capital of all of Baja. In fact, Oystera is located on the site of the old Santa Terra Sugar Mill facility in Todos Santos. Recently this site has been transformed into a gorgeous upscale space for dining and shopping. Despite the modern appeal, you will still find reminders of the past.

The Vibe

The aesthetics of this place are so, so good. The entrance is absolutely dreamy and really sets the mood for the chic industrial interior. The inside space is tastefully appointed with lush greenery, beautiful tile and so many thoughtful details.

What I Wore

Here’s what I wore on my visit Oystera in Todos Santos, BCS Mexico.

Tropical Leaf Jumper | Black Sleeveless Jumpsuit

Indoor Seating

The oyster bar, with huge ferns growing out of the top, is the highlight of the space. Around the perimeter you will find rustic picnic tables accompanied by benches and chairs. We sat at a table with a beautiful hammered copper finish.

When is the Best Time to Visit Oystera?

On our recent trip to Todos Santos, we visited Oystera for dinner. It was so cool we came back for brunch…and of course coffee!! Both menus had a great selection of entrees. However, if you don’t like seafood, you will find more options on the weekend brunch menu. As you might expect at an oyster bar, the dinner entrees are seafood heavy.

Visit Oystera for Brunch

We also stopped in for Sunday Brunch and I was blown away by the French toast I ordered.

When I say this is the best French toast I’ve ever had, I’m not even exaggerating. The first bite was just the bread, without the fruit or any syrup. It was delicious on it’s own because the bottom of the French toast was caramelized with a cinnamon/sugar crust that blew my mind! So good. Topped with fresh berries and ICE CREAM, this was such a decadent way to start the day. It of reminded me of crème brûlée.. Without hesitation, I give this an enthusiastic 10 out of 10, would recommend.

At this time, the brunch menu at Oystera is only offered on the weekend beginning at 10 am, so plan accordingly if you want to try this (which you totally do). Add a coffee and enjoy!

Coffee from an Oyster Bar?? Oh YES!! Their coffee cart is run by Baja Beans, which is (in my opinion) the best coffee around!

Visit Oystera for Dinner

If you don’t want raw oysters, the fried oysters with habanero aïoli are a great option. As a matter of fact, these oysters are mentioned in the Michelin guide for Mexico, so obviously they’re amazing!

Outdoor Seating

Not to be outdone, the outdoor space is equally charming with more picnic tables and a beautiful garden atmosphere. There isn’t a bad seat to be found.

When we were there for dinner this was DJ there playing an amazing set list! The entire experience exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to go back the next time we’re in Todos Santos.
