A Visit to Cória Estates Vineyard

The month of May found us in the Salem are area with a visit to Cória Estates, a Mexican owned winery with stunning views of the countryside. This property is located at the top of a hillside vineyard that also boasts a beautiful view of Mt Jefferson in the distance. (It was covered by clouds during our visit)

From the moment we arrived at Cória Estates we were warmly welcomed by a kind employee who gave us a quick rundown of the estate. With each pour he proudly shared family history and other fun details about each the wines we were tasting.

Cória Estates Score Card

I normally enjoy a good rosé and while this one had a nice crisp flavor, I prefer mine without bubbles. Of the two reds, the Syrah had a nice bold flavor without being too dry. The red blend was my least favorite overall. To me it was both oaky and dry which is not my preference. My top favorites were the three in the middle with a slight edge to the Chardonnay which was nice and fruity.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day. The weather was perfectly sunny and warm. It was so nice lounging in the adirondack chairs while we sipped away. Oh and did I mention they have palm trees? Yes, palm trees in Oregon! If you’re missing that sunny vacation feeling you get when you’re lounging under palm trees, head on over and order a wine flight.

The Sipsters absolutely loved our visit to Cória Estates. As much as we enjoyed sitting outside in the sun, this barrel room is a great option if you visit on a rainy day.

I love the wine barrel aesthetic paired with authentic Mexican Equipale leather tables and chairs. It gave me all the happy Baja vibes.
