Forest Park Ridge Trail Hiking Guide
This hike through Forest Park offers an outstanding view of the iconic St Johns Bridge in NW Portland. Did you know, Forest Park is the largest urban wilderness in the United States? As such there are numerous trails to explore within Forest Park. According to Portland Monthly Magazine, one of the best trails in the park is the Ridge Trail. Whether you prefer urban hikes or a more peaceful hike through trees, you will experience both along the Ridge Trail. Parking for this hike is limited to about 6-8 cars near the trailhead. Without other nearby places to park, you will have better luck going early or later in the…

Convenient Keto Snacks on the go:
These convenient Keto friendly snacks are great when you’re on the go and don’t have time to prepare something from scratch. I have personally packed all of these keto snacks on various road trips. In fact, I regularly keep Quest bars, almonds, Whisps, salame, cheese and beef jerky on hand for hiking snacks. They are all very portable and most don’t require refrigeration. Although the cheese and salame would be ideal in a cooler with an ice pack, they are perfectly fine for a few hours in a backpack. I wouldn’t trust the chocolate bars on a hike, but the quest bars are completely stable. CHEESE WHISPS | PICKLE BITES…

One Day in Rocky Mountain National Park
If you only have one day to visit Rocky Mountain National Park it might be hard to pin down which places to see. Whenever we are crunched for time at a national park we make the best of our stay and think of it like a sampler. We know it’s impossible to see it all in a short amount of time, therefore picking a few highlights lets us experience the park without stressing too much or feeling pressed for time. The first thing we do once we enter a national park is drive to the nearest visitor center to talk with a ranger. You will receive a map when you…

Crack in the Mountain Hiking Guide
The Crack in the Mountain slot canyon hike goes by many names, (also called SARA’s Crack Trail, SARA Canyon Trail or Crack in the Wall), but most people just refer to it as “The Crack.” The trail head, located at SARA (Special Activities Recreation Area) Park, is about 15 minutes south of the London Bridge Resort on hwy 95 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. This hike offers a fairly flat out and back trail through the canyon as well as an upper route both ending along the shores of Lake Havasu. The best part of this hike, in my opinion, is climbing up and around all the different obstacles within…

Sea to Sky Gondola: Adventures in Squamish
If you are planning a trip to the Whistler area, the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish is definitely worth checking out. Squamish is located between Vancouver and Whistler. The Sea to Sky base camp is about 2 kilometres south of Squamish, directly on the Sea to Sky Highway/Hwy 99. This fairly new attraction opened up in 2014 and has exceeded projected visitors by 40%. It’s no surprise that this is such a popular destination. With so many different ways to experience Sea to Sky, this was easily one of the highlights from our trip to Whistler. Originally we planned to do the Peak to Peak Gondola in Whistler, but some of our…
