“Denver, You’re so Cool” by Mandy Hazell
Address: 1109 Lincoln St, Denver, CO 80203
Denver…you ARE so cool and so very hip! This retro half-tone comic style mural is a must see if you are in Denver! Luckily we hit the jackpot when we discovered this alleyway because there were murals on nearly every wall. This was a total surprise and we were thrilled to get so much more bang for our buck without driving around town.
The next batch of murals can all be found in the alley on E 11th Avenue and Lincoln Street (11th Ave Hotel and Hostel). Once you find “Denver You’re so Cool” you will be on the right path for half a dozen or more other wonderful murals. The street art in this alley was created as part of COLORCON: a musical and artistic event that is re-imagining alleyways as iconic destinations. The amount of talent displayed in this section of town is just incredible! I spent a while searching for the names of the artists featured, but couldn’t find anything online to indicate what most of these pieces are called. I think they must be fairly new because my search on Google Maps still shows the alley before the rest of these were even painted.

This mural is HUGE! It takes up the entire side of a large building and totally reminds me of the doodles I used to draw in my notebooks in high school. Check out the progression of this mural here on Instagram.
“The Buzz” by Bobby Magee Lorenz
Address: 1625 17th Street , Denver, CO 80203
This mural isn’t located near the others listed above, but I wanted to include it because it was one of my favorites! Finding this mural was pure luck and was a fun surprise to discover while walking to Union Station. (Located on 17th, between The Oxford Hotel and Amante Coffee.) The butterflies, bees and hummingbirds are painted on both sides of the alleyway as well as the overhead walkway.
So there you have it…15 murals to find in Denver, Colorado. Which one is your favorite?
